Top 5 Steps For Success

Whether you are an entrepreneur or working for a corporation, you may be wondering, “How can I rise to the top and achieve the big goals?”. If you have dreams of making a bigger impact and wanting more to life than just being mediocre, apply these basic steps.

So, what does it take to be a “success”?

Success in any aspect of life is certainly not accidental. According to Jim Rohn, “Success is neither magical not mysterious. Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying the basic fundamentals.”
Meeting your goals requires applying certain steps, consistently day in and day out. It requires learning new skills and applying them. Successful people do what most people will never do, get uncomfortable. Often.

Here are my top tips for helping you to achieve success.

1. Find out why you want to achieve your goal. Finding the reason for your goals will help you whether the ups and downs you will face when putting the effort in day in and day out. It will maintain your drive and remind you why you cannot give up. This will be your source of motivation. Keep a written copy of your goal(s) and the reason why you would like to achieve them handy at all times. The reason why should be something that strikes a chord within you….this should not simply be a dollar amount goal, but why you need a certain level of achievement.

2. Take action, consistently. Successful people do not wait for an opportunity to fall into their laps. They are proactive, action takers. Success is a product of a person daring to be different, step outside the norm and take risks. Taking action is not only necessary to achieve results, but if you focus your efforts here, rather than solely focusing on the end result, you will be less discouraged when results appear unfathomable. This is especially for entrepreneurs, as the results may be a long time coming and there will plenty of times you will want to throw in the towel, but if you focus on the journey and the action steps you need to achieve, celebrate those small wins each day, this will help keep you focused and motivated.

3. Find the ONE thing and focus your efforts – high value activities. So many of us will find ways to procrastinate because it’s easier to do certain things than put ourselves out there. You need to find that one thing that is imperative to your success and be sure to focus most of your time on that task. For example, if you are selling a product, you must talk to people about your product. That is necessary above all other activities. Getting organized, learning etc. are secondary. Do not get stuck getting ready to be ready. Focus on the one task each day that needs to be done, in order to advance.

4. You need a HUGE belief bubble. Your attitude toward yourself, others and the world in general will determine your level of success. First, you need to imagine yourself winning. Picture this in your mind. What it looks and feels like. Next, be absolutely rock solid in your determination to become that. Believe that no obstacle is big enough and that there are always solutions to work through to get what you set out for. Realize that failure is part of the journey and a that in order to succeed these learning experiences are necessary. “Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.” – William Churchill

5. Develop competence. You must get better by doing, making mistakes, learning and doing some more. When you develop practical skills and get better at them, you will develop the confidence needed to excel. Confident people take more risks and succeed more. Learning to speak in front of an audience is the ultimate confidence builder, since this is a fear many people have. Start doing live videos on Facebook, Youtube etc.

Implement these 5 steps, consistently and a POSITIVE attitude and you will have the recipe to achieve your dreams!
